Josephine Shum is a Partner at Brookfield Financial, responsible for executing equity and debt placements, restructuring, recapitalization, M&A and portfolio advisory mandates. She has over 11 years of real estate experience in asset management, acquisitions, and development, across all asset classes.

Prior to joining Brookfield, Josephine was a Manager at AIG Global Real Estate responsible for asset management and acquisitions. Her asset management portfolio included over $1 billion of operating properties and land assets in the US. While at AIG, Josephine underwrote and closed on over $3 billion of investments in the US, Europe, and Asia. Josephine has a background in real estate development, including at Gemini Commercial Investments in London and The Ryland Group in Charlotte, NC.

Josephine earned her MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with a BS in Business Administration and a minor in Architecture.

Josephine is also registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. (“FINRA”) as a representative of Brookfield Private Advisors LLC. She holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63 & 79 licenses.
